I’m the driver because I’ve got the helmet

f you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you’ll know that I love creating play spaces for my kids out of everyday objects.  Their kitchen was made out of an old entertainment unit – it’s not a really flash one like some of the ones you see out there, but my kids love it and that’s all that matters to me.

A race car is born

Our latest endeavour involved a bed frame left behind by my brother-in-law when he moved out, various sized tyres, two car seats, and the plastic wheel rim from a balance bike.

I’m the driver because I’ve got the helmet

The fun really began once they took their car out for a spin.  Drifting, skids and some fancy footwork came into play by Master 4 as he raced the car over some very interesting terrain. Then his co-driver decided to be an argumentative little so-and-so.  They’re like a little old married couple…

The best part of this car is that when you get tired of driving you can just pass the steering wheel over to your co-driver.

For our next project, Master 4 has visions of a submarine made out of the motorcycle packing crate in the garage. Stay tuned for that one.

Awww…that is so adorable. Creativity is so important as a parent. I swear that I’ve used my brain more trying to stay a step ahead of my kids than all through University! lol
