Parenting the Vintage Advert Way

When you become a parent everyone loves to give you advice, particularly the older generation.

Back in their day babies were placid little creatures who slept through the night from early on…

Children were seen and not heard, generally because they were orbiting on their own little planets.

A doctor’s advice could always be trusted.

Cigarettes were good for your health, and that of your precious baby.

And if an advert in the paper said something was safe, of course you believed it.  Why would they lie?

It’s never too soon to start thinking about those awkward teen years.

But if you find the kids got too active you could always pop them in some cellophane to play.  After a few minutes they will have calmed right down.

And finally, because there’s only so many great parenting tips you can take in one hit…

So the next time the older generation implies your parenting methods aren’t good enough, think about where they got their advice.

You’re doing just fine.

For real? My kid will get a better start in life because she’ll fit in better with her peers by already being addicted to soda? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course. But just to be sure, start her on the cocaine tooth drops as well.

OMG! I feel guilty laughing – that’s hilarious, but SO concerning!!
Soda in your formative years…do they fit in because they’ll have no teeth left, like their peers?!
