I’ve been doing the Mumvember challenge and on ‘Make an effort Monday’, in a very rare event, I straightened my hair and put on some makeup. Feeling good about myself I asked Master 3 if I looked pretty. After looking at me for a while his soul-destroying answer was “not just yet Mummy”. He then grabbed a hair brush to work his magic on me…
He then proceeded to pull a whole lot of imaginary critters out my hair. Hmmmm itchy scalp anyone?
After a little while he was happy with his work and announced that I looked really beautiful.
Ah, I see where I’ve been going wrong all these years.
Despite looking so beautiful, I wasn’t ready to try this look out in public, much to Master 3′s dismay.

Aw what an awesome little boy!!!
He has his moments :0)
I dear you to go out in public with that cool hair style! K might have a career in hairdressing ;o)
OK Nikki, but you have to let your sons do your hair and come with me ;0)
Sue I don’t remember you looking that “pretty” on the Ambulance…I’m sure if you did your patients would have appreciated it, esp on friday night shifts
Might have been hard to fit under your helmet tho
Haha Tania, I’m sure you saw me looking prettier than that on night shifts, especially on the rare occasions that I managed to catch a quick nap on the little couch, or on the stretcher in one of the PTS trucks!
Haha that is awesome!
Make an Effort Monday sounds like a great idea, I might give it a try some time – I’m sick of pushing eyeliner from three days earlier back up beneath my eyes (which is usually as far as ‘effort’ for me goes). Though, I don’t think I’ll let my daughter near my hair… She’ll probably go and dig out her dad’s clippers!
I’m going to try having at least one Make an Effort day each week as I felt so much better for it. As for the clippers – eek I hadn’t thought of that one. I’m just waiting for the day when one of my kids finds a pair of scissors and hacks at their own hair. Dread to think of them getting near my hair with scissors.
